John supports a living wage
No one should work 40 hours a week and live in poverty. We must lift families out of poverty and spark our economy by increasing spending power and enabling people to start building wealth and creating savings. That’s why John supports a clean $15 minimum wage, without exemptions of any sort.
Introduced $15/hr legislation
John’s support for a $15 minimum wage has been well documented and substantiated. Not only did he introduce legislation in February 2016 to make it a reality, he took a stand and marched with union workers at the Newark airport who were demanding a wage that provided for them and their families.
On the contrast…
Meanwhile, Phil Murphy, who spent millions of dollars buying the support of party bosses and the party infrastructure, enlisted paid canvassers to go door-to-door and spread the message of a $15 minimum wage while only receiving $12.50 per hour themselves. Shortchanging the middle class for personal gain is exactly what created the economic mess New Jersey is in. New Jersey’s next governor needs to be truly committed to making this change.
